blacklistingblocking entities from communicating with (or logging into) a computer, site or network. Blocked entities can include IP addresses, user IDs, domains, email addresses, MAC addresses and programs. Blacklisting is a common in antivirus programs, firewalls and spam filters

DNS(Domain Name System) turns domain names into IP addresses (which browsers use to load internet pages). Every device connected to the internet has its own IP address, which is used by other devices to locate the device. DNS servers allow people to use names for their domains rather than having to remember a string of random numbers
